Job Description – Part‑Time Social Media & Marketing Assistant (1099 Contractor)
Hofer’s Mobile Mechanics LLC is looking for a part‑time Social Media & Marketing Assistant to help manage and grow our online presence. This is a flexible, as‑needed 1099 contractor role designed for someone who wants extra income—not a full‑time job. The position focuses on creating simple, clean, and consistent content that reflects our brand’s professionalism, honesty, and customer‑first values.
The role involves capturing and organizing photos/videos from job sites, creating posts for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, and helping maintain a steady online presence. Some content can be created remotely, but occasional on‑site collaboration may be needed to gather footage or understand the work being showcased. You will work directly with the owner to ensure all content aligns with our tone, ethics, and documentation standards.
This position requires reliability, good communication, and the ability to represent the business positively in all online interactions. You must be comfortable working independently, managing your own schedule, and delivering consistent weekly content without constant supervision. As a 1099 contractor, you will be responsible for your own equipment, taxes, and record‑keeping.

Basic understanding of engagement strategies (hashtags, timing, community group posting).
Ability to follow brand guidelines, tone, and messaging that reflect Hofer’s Mobile Mechanics’ professionalism and ethics.
Work Style & Reliability
Must be dependable, consistent, and able to meet weekly posting expectations.
Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
Able to collaborate on‑site occasionally to capture content at job locations.
Strong communication skills and ability to respond promptly to messages or scheduling needs.
Must maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling customer-related content.
Technical & Administrative Requirements
Must have a smartphone capable of taking quality photos/videos.
Must have reliable transportation for occasional on‑site content capture.
Ability to organize content, track posts, and maintain a simple posting schedule.
Ability to follow instructions and document work completed (posts made, engagement, etc.).
Must be able to represent the business positively and respectfully in all online interactions.
Legal & Employment Requirements
Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
Must understand this is a part‑time, 1099 contractor role with no benefits and no guaranteed hours.
Must be comfortable with flexible, as‑needed scheduling based on business needs.
Must be able to provide a W‑9 and understand basic 1099 responsibilities (self‑employment tax, record‑keeping, etc.).
